Bronze statues depicting attendees of the 1848 Seneca Falls Women's Rights Convention. Created by artist Lloyd Lillie along with his assistants Victoria Guerina and Hilary Hutchinson.
The statue exhibit is located in the lobby of the Women's Rights National Historical Park Visitor Center in Seneca Falls, NY. It is entitled "The First Wave," in honor of the first wave of women's rights activists present at the 1848 Women's Rights Convention. Nine named and eleven anonymous figures representative of convention attendees are featured. The nine named include prominent figures who signed the Declaration of Sentiments, with Mary Ann M'Clintock, Lucretia Mott, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton among them.
The sculpture was commissioned by the National Park Service for Women's Rights National Historical Park Visitor Center, and was unveiled at its opening on July 31st, 1993.
