This site presents "The Penny Colman Collection of Women's Historical Landmarks," a unique archive donated by noted author and photographer Penny Colman. For over 30 years, Colman sought to answer the question "Where are the women?" by documenting statues, plaques, and roadside markers dedicated to historic women. This collection offers an invaluable window into how and why people have chosen to memorialize (or forget) women, inviting you to explore their stories.
