Bronze plaque embedded in rock memorializing Van Lew.
The grave is located at the Shockoe Hill Cemetery in Richmond, VA. The signage directs visitors to the grave site of Van Lew. The rock monument is located at her place of burial, in honor of her work as an American abolitionist. Its placement was funded by anonymous friends. The rock itself was sent from the Capitol hill in Boston to hold the plaque.
