The memorial is located in Bronson Park in Kalamazoo, MI. It was erected in Stone's honor by the Lucinda Hinsdale Stone Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. It was formally unveiled on September 30th, 1914, the hundredth anniversary of her birth. The memorial honors Stone's efforts and work for women's education in Michigan.
