The building is located in Greenwich Village in New York City. Roosevelt was a resident of a unit in the building from 1933 to 1942. She utilized it as a temporary second home during her husband's time as president. The plaque placed on the building commemorates her time of occupancy.
The building has remained relatively unchanged since her time of residence, aside from the enclosure of the back porch she would use to sleep on during hot summer nights.
