Bronze plaque with a rounded top featuring embossed figurative depiction of Ripley and text.
The plaque is located in the Minnesota State Capitol's rotunda. It was placed there in 1939 to commemorate Dr. Ripley for her work as the Minnesota State Suffrage president and founder of the Minneapolis Maternity hospital. She established the hospital in 1886 with only three patients and one nurse aid. The plaque, along with its text, continue to remind those who view it of Dr. Ripley's courageous work for women.
