Bronze statue depicting Rankin. Created by artist Terry Mimnaugh in 1985.
The statue of Rankin was placed in the Statuary Hall of the Capitol Building in D.C. in 1985 and has resided there since. Each U.S. state has two statues in the hall to represent them. Rankin's statue acts as a representative of Montana. Her courage and status as the first woman elected to Congress led to her being chosen for this display.
