Louise Loeb Vegetable Garden
The Louise Loeb Vegetable Garden features ideas for home gardeners with techniques for saving space and time. Growing plants vertically on arbors, trellises and fences and using raised beds saves space and allows for quick, easy harvest. Planting crops allows more food to be grown in less space. The garden is mulched to conserve water and reduce weeds, which also means less time spent on these tasks.
The Louise Loeb Vegetable Garden is also a space to discover different plants: new hybrids, old-time heirlooms, disease and pest-resistant varieties, and unusual plants from around the world. It is planted to display contrasts of foliage, fruit, and flower; high-light colorful fruits, stems, and attractive leaves, and incorporate edible and ornamental flowers into the garden. Some of the beds are planted in patterns for additional interest. Pause to enjoy the garden’s beauty.
