Stone headstone recognizing the accomplishments of Kies.
According to Killingly legend, Kies died penniless and her grave was unmarked for over one hundred years. Members of the Killingly Grange No. 112 heard of this and decided to erect a monument on the site of Kies’s grave in order to memorialize her.
