Biographical Text
-
Bronze sculpture depicting Iseri sitting on her farmhouse porch.
The sculpture was created by Reynaldo Rivera to serve as a part of the Japanese Farmhouse Exhibit at the White River Valley Museum. The exhibit hopes to show the lives and unique experiences of Japanese Americans in the Pacific Northwest. Inspiration for the sculpture came from a 1918 photograph of the Iseri family working in a strawberry field. It serves not just as a memory of Iseri but also of all Japanese women.
