Bronze portrait bust resembling Mitchell. The bust sits on a tall cement pedestal and is housed in an open-air colonnade.
The bust is a replica of Brigham’s 1877 work, a gift of Mitchell’s nephew, William Mitchell Kendall. It was created in order to be displayed in the Hall of Fame for Great Americans, which currently consists of 96 busts of great Americans, who were nominated over seven decades by private citizens across the country.
