Granite headstone etched with floral motifs on the top corners. In the center of the headstone is etched an image of a lamp. The headstone is denoted to belong to Emily and Florence Griffith.
Emily is buried and shares a headstone with her sister, Florence. The two were tragically murdered on June 18, 1947. Beneath Emily’s name on the headstone also contains the quote that hung over the door of Opportunity School stating “For all who wish to learn.” The pair are buried in Denver, Colorado, where Opportunity School was located and where the pair lived.
