Typical middle class home of the Antebellum period. Made of wood and painted white.
The cottage sat behind the Fishback Hotel, which was run by Boyd’s relatives, the Stewarts. Boyd stayed here in 1862, when the Union soldiers took control of the hotel. It is said that her espionage work began on these grounds.
Today, the cottage is open to the public for tours. Furthermore, Civil War themed events and demonstrations with reenactors have also been held on the grounds. The cottage was donated to the Warren Heritage Society in 1981 and physically moved to its current location in 1982. - Date Modified
