Brick elementary school building for the town of Council Bluffs.
According to newspapers of the 1920s, the school was not named after Amelia Bloomer, but her husband, Dexter Chamberlain Bloomer, who was also influential in the community.
A school had stood on the property since 1866. In the 1920s, this building was torn down and a new school was built and was named the Bloomer School. Today, the school is still used as an elementary school for the town of Council Bluffs. - Text
