Lucretia Scott was an American abolitionist, social reform and women's rights activist, and educator. At 13, Mott enrolled in the Nine Partners School, and would become a teacher there at 15. On April 10, 1811, Lucretia Coffin married James Mott, a Quaker businessman, in Philadelphia. They had six children together: Anna, Maria, Thomas, Elizabeth, and Martha. One child did not live to adulthood. Mott died in 1880 of pneumonia at her home, Roadside, now located in Cheltenham, PA.
