Sophronia “Fronie” Vickers Kirvin Bradley Hall was born to her father Almon Stephen L. Vickers and her mother, Rebecca Clemons. Her first marriage was to James B. Kirvin in January 1897. The couple lived together in Florida. She later married Guy Morrell Bradley and had two children with him, Morrell and Ellis Bradley. Guy Bradley was a Game Warden specifically concerned with poachers. He targeted and arrested poachers which led to his eventual death. One family Guy had previous altercations with was the Smith family. The Smith’s were plume hunters, Guy Bradley had arrested Walter Smith’s son for plume hunting. Smith threatened to harm Bradley if he continued to interfere with their work. The altercation resulted in the fatal wounding of Guy Bradley after Walter Smith shot him. Sophronia’s two younger brothers sought revenge by burning down the Smith family house which killed Walter Smith.
